Friday Koos and I went to a party held by the South African Embassy.
It was in celebration of Freedom Day (actually on Monday, the 27th) which celebrated the 15th anniversary of democracy in South Africa. Kind of strange to think this was only their fourth election....
I had an amazing time! We drank South African wine, and mingled with all the people there. We spoke Afrikaans to real Afrikaners, and met some fascinating people. And they were all so excited to see other South Africans. And I was too! :-D We danced to an African band, and I chatted with different people. I was so happy to see the rainbow of people there! And everyone just assumed I was African too. :-)
Even met a UN judge! (Who told Koos I was pretty! ;-) )
Definitely a great way to celebrate!
